The Portal

To celebrate the opening of ‘The Underpass’, we were commissioned by Birmingham City Council to transform a once-forgotten walkway into a vibrant, illuminated corridor. Mailblox, inspired by Birmingham’s eclectic architectural landscape, cleverly completes the void beneath a structural column with bold, geometric form. The Portal takes a more ethereal approach—marking this threshold space with a glowing invitation to cross between worlds! Together, they form a captivating dialogue between architecture, identity, and imagination.
