Urban Art > The Newburgh Quarter

The Newburgh Quarter is an important part of the Carnaby estate and is made of a number of smaller streets and courtyards. It has its very own identity and as such it was felt that by introducing a series of gateway arches that this would help to raise its profile and help to set it apart from Carnaby Street.

Each arch is positioned carefully to maximise visibility and help to raise awareness. The middle section can be illuminated so that it has impact from dusk onwards. The only slight difficulty with this job was that each of the 4 arches is a different size and therefore had to be independently engineered!
